Subject – An Appeal to Stop EU Appeasement and Funding of the Genocidal Regime in Ethiopia and its complicity in the Ongoing Silent Genocide in Tigray

We, Mekete Tigray UK – an independent community organization of the Tigrayan diaspora in the UK – are horrified by the EU’s dramatic shift in position regarding the genocidal war on Tigray and its recent statement on the current developments in Tigray and Ethiopia at large. You may recall that during the war in Tigray, mass atrocity crimes were committed against the minority nationality of Tigrayans. These crimes included genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. In the genocidal war on Tigray, over one million Tigrayans lost their lives, hundreds of thousands of Tigrayan women and girls were victims of weaponized sexual violence, and the economic, social, and cultural fabric of Tigray was systematically destroyed.
