Commentary on the So-called “1960s and 1970s Politics”.

During the just concluded GSTSP (Global Society of Tigrayan Scholars and Professionals) Conference held in Mekelle, Tigray, is a theme that has been uncritically propagated by an emerging section of Tigrayan political elites (its social base, global inspiration and links is a possible theme for future discussion). This is the notion of the obsoleteness of the “1960s and 1970s” politics, ideas, ideologies, struggles and movements that are commonly and collectively known as the era of “progressive politics”.
