I am a comedian!
I am a comedian
As that certified accolade with awards
At an early age
I had the knack and courage
As I practiced at the back stage
I pledge myself I will break the poverty cage
My family that was held hostage
As I grew and shed the youthful plumage
And began to rise in fame and prestige
Then I took over the main stage.
I began to play
Captivating the audiences’ mind-tray
And events began to go my way.
But the stage is my worst enemy
As much as my beloved company.
Soon as I tasted the sweet fruits of success
Over indulgence turned sour, tasteless
I began to drift and immersed in the morass;
More often than not
I began to stagger and flop
Because of a drug overdose
Then audiences got into fist fights with gate keepers
furious over their hard-earned expenses
They dispensed
Only to watch a murmmer as feckless and gross.
Bemused gate keepers
in turn angrily responded
That they had nothing to do with such performance
Only securing their safety
Rather than looking for excuses
Those who betrayed their trow, Scot-free
And slowed and towed the glowing flow
Of the show,
Causing them the pain and threo
Audiences sought to direct their grievances
At those running the show
Why are gate keepers to blame?
Except to secure the stage frame
From catching fire with flame
And tame trouble makers causing mayhem
You needed to direct your grievances
At those who direct the performance
